Best known as a hub for business and association meetings, conferences, trade shows and job fairs, the Sinclair Conference Center is also a gathering place for area cultural and art events. The conference center is the venue of choice for many galas, film screenings and special events for organizations including Culture Works, Dayton Opera, Dayton Visual Arts Center (DVAC), National Aviation Hall of Fame and Dayton’s premier theatre-awards event, the DayTonys.

DVAC utilizes the Sinclair Conference Center for a variety of events, including its board and committee meetings and annual art-auction fundraiser. DVAC also cosponsors with Sinclair Community College the annual “Realizing Ethnic Awareness and Cultural Heritage (REACH) Across Dayton” cultural-studies conference.

DVAC Executive Director Jane A. Black describes the Sinclair Conference Center as the “perfect venue” for the organization’s functions. “The Sinclair Conference Center is a great choice for DVAC events, because the staff is so accommodating and helpful, the food is great, and the parking and layout are easy,” Black said. “But perhaps the conference center’s strongest attraction is that our volunteers and guests feel so comfortable in its warm and inviting space.”

Sinclair Conference CenterThe college itself has hosted visual-arts exhibits in the Sinclair Conference Center, including most recently dozens of paintings from the estate of longtime Dayton artist Alix Amador French. One of the founders of the Miami Valley Cooperative Gallery, French was a highly productive artist during her 60 years in Dayton. A number of her paintings, donated to the Sinclair Foundation, are now on permanent exhibit within the conference center and various other college sites.

Sinclair is committed to ensuring that the conference center is poised to meet the ever-changing needs of its clients. The college continues to invest in improving the facility’s overall comfort, capabilities, technology and equipment. Its staff includes certified meeting planners dedicated to consistently providing clients with superior client service and support. “Our goal is to provide each client with an exceptional event experience, every time,” said Hope Arthur, director of the Sinclair Conference Center.
